The Granfors Bruk carving axes convinced me it was time to set up this service, but I’m happy to grind other makes if you’re interested and want to make the investment.

The GB axes for example are beautifully crafted and heat treated axes that usually come with a horrendous convex grind that does the axe no justice. Over the years I’ve ground a few axes for customer who reported “it’s not even the same tool anymore after your grind, you saved it.

My flat over hollow grind flats reduces the number of glancing strikes and makes touching up your axes edge so much quick and easier. The axe will bite, but also stop in a way reduces disastrous over-blows. I target 28-30 degrees, where I have found the factory grinds are often are closer to 20 degrees and very convex. The factory grind tends to glance, or blast through your target point and stick. You’ll find my grind reduced fatigue and increases accuracy .

Pack your axe with the edge VERY well protected so no postal carriers are injured in travel. When I see the order come in I will email you with my address. It’s my home address, so I would like to avoid posting it here.
